chords are a great place to start eg start with basic major chords,A,C,D,E,F,G and then their minor counterparts and then start filling in the gaps, that should give you a good grounding for fingure strength and movement, practice changing quickly between chord.
simple scales like the pentatonic major and minor are good too
hammer-ons, pull-off, slides etc are all techniques your will need to learn

the internet is a very good resource and alot of this can be found there and people in this forum will be very willing to help
