It's an easy adjustment. The only thing you'll need to look out for is to not loosen the screws to where they come out. But if your putting on thicker strings, you'll most likely be tightening the screws rather than loosening them.

The screws move the plate (claw is the technical term) that the springs are attached to back and forth.

I might not be a Les paul fan but I certainly respect knowledge dude (why you guys love that thing... LP's are not that nice... I'm more into modern equipment, maybe someday I'll have one hanging on me an think "gee those guys were sooo right" but to be honest...
