Is it better to hold the pick w/ index-thumb, or the tripod method?

i use both. i use the index finger for pucking and the tripod for struming as it is quite flexable and easy to get a catchy rythem going. i also use my 4th figer to hord the pick often as many of the song i write require changes from pick/finger-stlye. because of this i have developed a stly using only 3 fingers instead of the usual 4. if anyone wan't to learn this techneqe, e-mail me. its great for any style that neads fast, fluent changes.
