And I have had a few heated exchanges which I regret, but sometimes s**t happens. My question is what does a moderator look for to justify baning somebody? And if you do get baned is there diffrent levels, or lengths of time to fit the crime, or is it one strike and your out? Are you notified before being baned, or does it just happen, and is the banee is just out, and can they get back in after a peroid of time?
Also I am just noticing the scale looking thing in the right hand top of posts that you click on for reputation points, and the caution triangle for reputation comments. How does that work? Is it good to have points, or good not to? Where do you monitor yours, and other peoples reps. and who determines how many points you get, and how many get taken away? I cant find the user reputation columns for all GT registered users. And lastly can just any one make reputation good, or bad comments, or is it for mods. to do?

A mod will only ban you if you are being a jerk and not letting up. If you constantly insult people or sh*t on their opinions or anything like that over a long period of time, chances are you will be banned. The mods will always warn you to knock it off first, though, so don't get too worried. Basically you just have to mind the forum rules and be courteous to other GT members and you're safe.

Rep points are something you can do to let someone know you agree or disagree with what they said. If there's a discussion going on and you think someone made a good point (or said something that made you laugh), click on the scale thing and check off the "I agree" thing. You can leave them a little message too, if you like. On the other hand, if you found what they said to be rude or insulting, click on "I disagree."

The reputation columns, by the way, can be found if you click on the Members List at the top of the page. If you click on Reputation once you get there, it will organize all GT members in order of rep (highest to lowest).
