even better that way!

when I was a wee little child, I wanted to play guitar. but my parents didnt think that was a good idea. they signed me up for piano lessons instead. and I played piano four years.

then I started thinking for myself, and thought, "hey... I havnt played a single song I like... whats the point?" so I quit. that summer, I got an acoustic from my grandma on a visit to her house.

but yeah man, it took me all of middle school to prove to my parents that I had worked my acoustic technique enough to buy an electric. (of course, I never really started playing till 7th grade, but thats besides the point.)

but now in retrospect, Its very good that I learned piano, which actually has influenced and helped my playing. theory especially.
and its also very good that I learned practically all my guitar techniques on acoustic, because its so much easier on electric.

and to sum this all up, parent's decisions DO suck, but sometimes they turn out well.
