If that is how you feel, then there was no point to your post. He didn't ask DO you have a favorite guitarist and/or solo, but WHO is your favorite guitarist and/or solo. Personaly, I find it interesting to see who/what everybodies favorite guitarist and solo is. Now, the "who's the best" "is so and so better than so and so", and threads like that are quite annoying and useless, but even they aren't pointless. I've discovered many great guitarists that I would have never heard of if it weren't for threads like that, and have learned a lot of interesting information about different artists.

As for me, my favorite guitarist would probably be Slash. I've always loved his raw, bluesy, hard rock style of playing, and he is one of the reasons I picked up the guitar in the first place. I don't really have a favorite solo, but a melodic solo that follows the mood and movements of the song are my favorite style solos.

My favourite guitarist is John McLaughlin, but my favourite solo changes all the time. A frequent favourite is the second solo in "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd, who are my favourite rock band.

Guitarist: Dimebag Darrell

Solo: A little obscure but Lenny Kravitz's solo on his song "Can't get you off my mind" is my fave currently.

These change all the time depending on my mood or what mood a certain conjures up.

Favorite solo: Tornado of Souls by Marty Friedman (or one of my fav's)

Favorite guitarist: ^ ^ or Paul Gilbert, as far as electric. In the acoustic world, definitely Armik. Hes a flamenco great.

Pure, you need to understand that all of those threads were a long time ago. Most people dont use the search, and for this kind of "Favorite's" there is not need to. Every 6 months, a wave of new memebers come and old ones go. (and you seem to be in the our new one)Therefore, the results are never the same (besides your Hendrix, Van Halen, Vai...ect). Also most of the newest memebers create these kind of threads to get an outlook on the site's memebers. I know I did. My first thread was "Your Dream Guitar".

Oh, yes! George Harrison is the shiz . I'm listening to "Revolver" a fair bit at the moment, he plays some great stuff on that album.

I could never pick an absolute favourite guitarist. I've tried before, but I always end up with about 20.

I've always really really liked the solo to In Bloom by Nirvana. Whenever I picture myself as a guitar god onstage playing a solo to millions, it always sounds kind of like the In Bloom solo. So distorted. So odd. It hits the spot.

Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.

You might can edit your posts to try to make yourself not look like such an idiot, but you do realize that you can't do anything about the people who quoted your post right?
