Back in the good old days when napster ruled the web. We were hooking up our Stereo systems to our computers, via our sound blaster sound card, Aux out on the Stereo to the inputs on the sound blaster sound card and manually recording our 8 tracks, cassetts, and vinyl records in to 128 kbs mp3. format. I shared 1000s of songs this way, tapes sounded pretty good but records you could hear that it was a vinyl record. We had a program that would take out the hiss of the record player but you did lose some quility...... :) :)
