ha ha, after reading that explanation I was expecting something shred-tastic. but honestly, that was pretty good! it fit in a way.

btw, it's not required that you perform a jazz solo over th backing, you can do whatever you want. but seeing as the backing is jazz, it usually makes the most sense to do a jazz solo, but what you did sounded good, so no worries! :D
