Couldn't agree more. It's not always easy to see progress when you're the one experiencing it every day. Also, when I was first learning, I found it helped to try and figure out songs on my own, without music. It helps to familiarize yourself with the notes, plus you are truly "learning" the song and the phrasing versus learning it by rote. Keep it up, and good luck!
