Hmmm...I've never had a true adversary before. Now I've might have one (whom I don't know).
For life is quite absurd and death's the final word, You must always face the curtain with a bow

Man, and I thought I was cynical...

Sorry Pure, I think I'm going to have to cry when you die. I'll miss your cynicism. ;)

When other people die... I'm just glad it wasn't me or someone close to me. That's just the way I am. If someone close to me dies I'm still glad it wasn't me most of the time.
If I died I wouldn't want anyone over the net to know so that they could pretend to be sad and post lame things. I wouldn't want to be one of those people who die in high school either. It's so ridiculous to see the amount of people who didn't even know the person cry and **** just for the attention.

I dunno - I think many of those people cry because, naturally, they're shocked and upset by death, albeit the death of somebody they didn't really know. But I'll agree that some of the eulogising and commemoration after a death can be attention-seeking and sycophantic, eg. barely-casual acquaintances of the person in question who suddenly become their bereaved best friends after the person's death.

what he said, we're all human, everyone deals with death his own way, some take advantage from it, like getting all the attention on them, maybe without even realizing

I have only just realised how frequently I used the word "death" in that last post... how morbid...

Akira is my friend. If he died I'd would be standing here beside myself. (Sorry I watch Short Circuit last night :o ).

Hm... translating this to music... The death of Kurt Cobain....... The majority of grunge fans preferred Pearl Jam over Nirvana until it became cool to mourn the death of Kurt Cobain by going out and buying tshirts, cds, and other NIrvana/Cobain memorabilia...

I think the same thing happens in high schools when a student dies. It becomes a quick lived fad to mourn the death of a student... because everyone talks about it and everyone knows it's not cool to be left out... but in most cases of suicide in high school... I reference Blink 182's 'Adam Song' "another six months I'll be unknown"

I think of you guys as my friends. I'll probably get banned and never get to communicate with you again, which makes me sad, because I like you more than most people I know in real life.
You go outside and practice screaming. We'll play music while you're gone.

Right on, man. And don't forget what Dean Guitars are doing with Dimebag Darrell at the moment - that's just disgusting... :( Did you hear that they've made a "Dimebag Darrell Tribute Motorcycle"?!

I haven't seen the motorcycle. But I have taken notice to what they've been doing with everything else. It seems like death is the ultimate marketing ploi. I mean, look at Tupac and BIG... their record sales soared after their deaths. And everything else that goes a long with either of them... and they still come out with a new cd every few years that seems to go platinum.

Death is the grandest of all marketing schemes...

for a while I was wondering if Dr Simon had died. becuase he wasn't on here for a real long time. now he posts occasionally, so I know he's alive, but I knew there was no way of knowing for sure if he was dead, and it just killed me!

btw, I care enough about the people here that I would want to know if someone died. I think we should all write it in our wills that if we die that someone must come on here to inform us.
