Thanx for the feedback guys. Well first off this is my first time doing this and the guitar is a Behringer so I wasn't scared if I messed it up because I didn't have much money in it. But when stripping the guitar I learned that that wasn't much of a problem, finding a stripper strong enough to get through the clear coat was. I ended up power sanding the clear coat off and when that was done I put the stripper on a small place to test it out I waited 30 minutes (keeping the stripper wet too) and nothing no peeling cracking or anything. Well after buying three more different brands of stripper I came upon one that weakend the paint but not alot.

My dad than thought of a great idea it was to use a blow dryer to heat the paint up and make it easier to scrap off. It worked! After scraping off to the primer (it had 5 coats of black at least) I then sanded (bless you power sander) it down to the wood. I then cleaned it with acetone because it cleans well and evaporates quickly. I then had to figure out what look I wanted it to be. I decided on a kinda of tiger stripe. So I used a method my dad used on his Kentukey Rifle. Lay down cotton string and burn it across the wood (it doesn't burn down into the wood just blackends it). After that I got some Mahogony stain and stained it and let it dry. Then I sprayed it with a satin clear coat (I'll prolly sand it and use gloss). I put it all together and took the pic. The best part is with all the paint gone it has a much better tone and much more sustain.

Well thats all I can remember hope it helps LOL
