make sure the volume knob on your guitar is turned past 0.. also, make sure that the battery in it is fresh or that the AC adaptor is plugged in to an outlet that is turned on (some outlets are controlled by light switches). failing all of that, look in the instruction manual and see if there is something you didn't overlook.
