the downstairs band for the old people consists of a drummer, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, violin, piano, electric bass, one male singer, and usually 2 or 3 female singers. the upstairs high school band I'm in consists of an acoustic guitar playin male who also sings, an electric guitar (me!), 2-3 female singers, occasionally a drummer (he also drums for the downstairs band, so he can only play for us sometimes) and every now and then a second acoustic by a guy I can't stand because all he does is complain and then thinks he's like the most talented and experience member of the band... definately not true.. it would be better if we could get him on bass, since we don't need a second acoustic, but our band doesn't have a bass guitar anymore.
both bands have all members run through a PA system, which is being worked by a sound guy. our upstairs sound guy has an ego and thinks he is "the most important member of the band" and isn't really the greatest, but it works. I am the only one not running through the PA as my 40W tube amp could drown out the PA if I really wanted it to :D though I think it probably would be better if we did mic my amp up, so that it can be heard in the entire room, not just the section my amp is pointing towards.
