Heres another exercise that also could be used in a riff.
Also try useing a pull-off going from 10-9 on the first two notes.

[E--10h9--------------------------------7--]
[B-------root-note>10--------------8-------]
[G-----------------------9\7---9-----------]Repeat:
[D-----------------------------------------]
[A-----------------------------------------]
[E-----------------------------------------]
2 1 2 1 1 3 2 1

Below: are two Ending's that could be used to end it after, the last 7 note above on the high E is picked.

Ending=1.
E[-----10\12-----------]
B[---------------------]
G[---------------------]
D[---------------------]
A[---------------------]
E[---------------------]
4 4

Ending=2
E[--10h9-----------10\12-]
B[--------10-------------]
G[-------------9---------]
D[-----------------------]
A[-----------------------]
E[-----------------------]
2 1 2 1 2 2

P:S Try it all over the finger board.
