the powder black color looks so cool. very goth/metal looking. of course, I don't know the style of music you want. but it's reasonably versatile too... if not that one, then go for the lower end ibanez. OR an agile, which I have not tried, but have heard so many good things about because you get soo much bang for the buck.
I have not heard many good things about squire. and if you really only want it because of the chrome pickguard, you can rest assured that many places sell aftermarket pickguards (installing them may be a challenge, but if you're the do-it-yourself kinda guy, then go for it!) heck, you can even get diamond plate pickguards.. how cool is that?
i have an acoustic that i am learning on at the moment. I just know i will soon be ready for an electric so i just wanted to start leaning about them now.
I am a pretty big GnR fan. but i like all kinds of music. country blues rock I like it all and would want to be able to play all of them an not be limited. I have a friend that has the les paul and it just feel strang or really heavy in the back hard to play while sitting. untill i saw the chrome and black i did not really like the looks of the fender body. but it is growing on me to more that i look at them. All i really know is that that body style feels better in my lap. my brother in law also has les paul gibson. and he always plays stand ing for that reason. I am a set on the couch and watch TV playing to loud that it pisses my wife off kinda guy .. if my guitar is out I always pick it up and play. I am learning the GnR tab and sheet music when i have some songs down i know i will be egar to get an electric...
