Well, as you could probably tell, I wasn't real happy with my SG, and it was a loooong time ago, but if memory serves, the bridge rests on a knurled disc on each end, which is threaded onto a pair of screws that are set into the body.

Go back to the Index for the Tech Talk forum, and read the thread about replacing pickups.

http://www.guitartricks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11540

Read that thread many times, until you can quote it from memory. Then, you can work on your guitar.

Remove all of the strings.

Note which way the bridge is mounted, so that you can put it back on the same way later.

Measure the height of the discs above the guitar body, so you can put them back in the same place later.

Lift the bridge off of the screws at each end of the saddle.

Remove the threaded discs from the screws.

Leave the screws in the guitar body. The pick guard should lift off freely, once the other screws are removed.

Remove the other screws from around the edge of the pick guard.

Carefully lift the guard away from the body, being careful about the wires from the pickups to the controls.

Go back and read that pupswap thread again.
