well, essentially it would be just drilling a few holes, yes, but the placement of the holes would have to be precise, otherwise the guitar may have bad intonation for the rest of it's life. definately not something I'd want to do myself, but if you're the do-it-yourself kinda guy, and you're willing to take the risk, then I'd try to find some info on it on a project guitar website.
