If your going to learn a song from tab, Memorize it with out your instrument, look for simularities in verses and do the hardest verses or solo's first and spend most of your time with the hardest verses visualize it in your head. When you pick up your instrument and start playing the piece try to go up to full speed right away. When you finnaly get it start practising it at x 1.5 speed.
