Dream On?

I may be wrong but wasn't that Aerosmith?
Or were you perhaps thinking of the song "Ramble On"?

Well I'm only familiar with the first 4 LZ albums

so I may be wrong.

:o Yeah, you're right, it's an Aerosmith song, my bad! I downloaded it, and it was listed as "Led Zeppelin"... I'm such a dumb internet tool, sorry :o :o

Anybody else like the Presence album?
Most people I've talked to say they don't like it. I was kinda forced to listen to it back in the teen cruisin days, cause it was one of only two tapes we had to listen to. (the other one was Peter Frampton Comes Alive)
I probably heard it a few hundred times but never appreciated the guitar playing at the time cause I could only play basic chords back then.
I listen to it now and it's like... wow... pretty inventive stuff going on there.

I've never been a diehard Led Zepplin listener so I'm just curious if that album was a departure from their usual stuff or something. The only Led Zeppelin stuff I really know is Immigrant Song, Stairway to Heaven and the Presence Album.

I think the real departure album was Physical Graffiti, which came out right after Houses of the Holy. Come to think of it, Houses of the Holy was pretty different from the first 4 albums too. I would say Houses of the Holy was probably when they first realized there was more they could do than just bluesy rock and acoustic folk stuff. It was a pretty soft-sounding album compared to the first 4. Then Physical Graffiti came out, and it was more rock-oriented again, but there was a lot more keyboard usage.

The only thing I like on "Presence" is "Achilles Last Stand" and "nobody's Fault But Mine", and I love Zep. I just found the album to be weak in the musical sense. It did not have as many hooks as the others, and just was not as strong.

In Guitar World, Jimmy Page says "Presence" was his Favourite album because it was done under "near impossible terms". ( Because of Robert's leg being broken and he being in a wheelchair )

Just as a side note, I am seeing Micheal White and The White when they come to Ottawa in April. They are playing Zep 2 and Presence, along with other Zep hits. I beleive they are the only Zep cover band that is somewhat "endorsed" by Jimmy himself.
