BEAUTIFULLY. i got the Agile Valkyrie IV, (SG) and its all mahogany with the set neck.

most beautiful looking and sounding thing. i love it. its a very versitile guitar.

Agile specializes in LP's tho. which look equally as incredible.

check out http://www.rondomusic.net/electricguitar-ss4.htmlthats where the guitars start getting nice.

They are beautiful no doubt and I'm guessing they still sound pretty solid, but all the ones I looked at have maple necks not mahogany. Yes, it makes a huge difference. OK the ones that were above $500 had mahogany necks. That's still a fair dollar tho. People should really consider one of these ones if they are thinking of getting a Les Paul. That first one 6strngs should be headlining the Ugliest Guitar thread.

nah, on the last page you get some LP's with a set mahogany neck.

EDIT

my bad, i didnt read all of your post.

but yeah, Agile makes great LP's for a player who is both just beginning all the way to one who is gigging pretty regularly. but for say a professional who is very picky about their guitars and want certain things, i'd say it would be more of a pretty toy.

$370 - mahogany body w/ mahogany set neck
http://www.rondomusic.net/al3000prest.html

I really want to get this as a project guitar, put new pickups, tuners, elctronics (perhaps even with push pull pots for coil tapping or phase switching) straplocks, maybe a new nut (don't know what the stock one is like) and perhaps a new bridge if I think it needs it. and then I could have a metal machine! the alder body with maple neck should give a jackson-like tone.

there's always this one, for the mahogany body/neck. but it's not an agile, and the body shape is a little wierd.. but the price is good.. should save you enough money to throw in some gibson pickups and have a gibson tone for super cheap.

The scale lengths vary a bit from the Gibsons but that shouldn't matter too much. Find me one like the 3000 Prestige with a rosewood fingerboard and you probably found my next axe. I may even start to like you again.

nah, if your gunna get the SX, get the version with the floyd. then at least you could use the tremolo and still do all the pimping you want.

apparently, you either get one with a maple neck, or with an ebony fingerboard.. but you could always send an e-mail to the guy requesting one with a rosewood fingerboard.. if you read what it says about the 7-strings, it says that it was based on customer requests, so obvioulsy they take customer requests.

also, they have 24 3/4" scale lengths, which is the same a gibson.

Not much. Remember that comment you made about my poetry writing? It really dropped my view of you.

See, if only you'd said that three months ago. You're posting style always has you having to say you were kidding. If you want to keep doing it go ahead. You're really not doing anything wrong. You just sound condescending.

sarcasm... it's a bad habit.. I usually type how I would say things in a normal conversation.. I tend to not realize that people can't pick up my tone of voice when I type something. so, sorry (god, why the flip'n'flap have I been having to say that so often recently??) I think I may just be a jerk.. not exactly something I wanted to see myself become... damn it.. now I've gotta go find a few hours to reflect on my life.

I have 9 guitars at the moment. 5 of them were bought through eBay. All good'uns. And there's two more that I'm looking for that I know are unlikely to show up locally. I advocate the 'try before you buy' philosophy, but I have found that both Washburn and Yamaha have such consistent build quality that it's not nearly the crapshoot you risk when you're looking at Gibson or Fender.

And from what I've seen and heard, Agile is excellent value for the money. A Gibson fan I know from another forum bought one to gig with so he wouldn't subject his LP to the dangers of touring. He likes it. A lot.

I sold a Washburn Festival 6-string electric acoustic on eBay last year. The buyer was happy with his purchase. I will probably sell another axe on eBay this year, and I expect that buyer will be happy too.

There are a-holes on eBay, just like anywhere else. Good people, too.

Ebay is a good place to get your gear. Just make sure you look at the sellers feedback. Not just his rating but his actual feedback that folks have left him. I won't do business with anyone that has a feedback rating lower than 98 or 99% most of the time. I bought my Jackson off EBAY though and my Rokit RP5 monitors. I'm always looking for good deals there. Maybe I'll find that guitar LATS is talking about selling. :D
I am a constant evolving music machine. Oh Man, I just forgot what I was playing. Oh well, on to the next song.
