Vibrato, trill and vibrato trill are three different techniques?

i am trying to copy BB King's sound doing this
i am fretting a note and then i move it down, back, up, forward, and doing that again and again, to sum up i am moving the note in cyrcles. When i am doing that i am taking my thumb off the neck. Am i near at all?
