Ok I have been playing for a long time off and on 40 years..( basiclly I have been wondering in the desert) I want to finally master the rock lick you use with you pinky (if I can, It might be physicly impossible.) This is the lick I am talking about. It is used in 1000's of rock tunes.. Ok, say you are using a E bar chord on the 7th fret ( born to be wild lick)

My pinky doesn't like to go to the 12th fret ( it hurts). I think many people have problems with this, how have you get over this or if you keep practicing will yourfinger stretch. I guess I have never mastered it because it always felt uncomfortable...
