well, I didn't know you already had an amp! that peavey one will get you by when just beginning, but the spider is a great amp, so after you've been playing for a while and feel the need to "upgrade" the spider would make a great choice. but for now the peavey one is all you need.
if all you need is a guitar, you already have everything else, and you're willing to spend $500 (which is alot for a first guitar, most people only want to spend $100-200 until they figure out whether they want to stick with it or not.) but after reading this thread again, the way I see it is you have already been playing acoustic for a while, and now want an electric. so, you already know you want to stick with it, and now you have a $500 budget to get an electric.
well, there is always this one I have never played the guitar, but everyone seems to love schecter with a passion. so I have no doubt in my mind that it's a great guitar. I have played a schecter (not this one, but a different one.. I think it might have been the C1+) and it was a great guitar! so for under $500 this is probably one of the best deals. of course, the style of music you want to play plays a big factor on which guitar is right for you. so, if you like playing clean sounds, with little or no distortion.. then a strat may be better for you. and if you like rock, hard rock, metal, and beyond. then this schecter is probably going to suit you better.
