I've been using the acoustic strings for a while now and i agree, they are the best sounding and longest lasting strings i have ever used. I'll be sticking with them!! Anyway to answer you're question, I've recently experimented with Elixirs on my electrics and have found them to be just as good as the Ernie Balls I normally use, the only difference being that they are not quite so bright when you first put them on as the EB's, but after a couple of gigs or rehearsals when the EB's have died, the Elixirs keep going strong. I use 10's not 9's but I wouldn't have thought this would make any difference. If you're a player who doesn't gig and you don't want the hassle of restringing every 5 minutes to get that new string tone, then i would recommend Elixirs. Worth the extra cost for much longer string life, in my opinion. Hope this helps.
