well ive always used ernie ball, so i dont have any experiance with elixir's.

but 9's have a light kind of sound, i think they sound great for anything clean. they sound good for classic rock, but they arnt great for anything heavy.

they're very easy to work with because they're so thin. bends, tapping, anything- its easier the thinner you go.
