I have added videos to my Music Theory introductory tutorial. It is a brief overview of the most important, fundamental concepts in music theory:

Howdy folks! : ) I just wanted to let everyone know that I've been slaving away for months trying to develop my new teaching materials for my site. I initially intended to sell it online like I did the older version in the past, but, as traffic to my site has dwindled from what it was, which was never really all that impressive, I've decided to just make it free (at least for a while). I guess you could call it "beta testing" as there are still many little glitches to work out. So, while it's free, please help yourself and if you run into any glitches, please just post a message to me here and I'll try to get around to fixing it when I get the chance.
The Rosetta Stone Of Guitar
As for the future of my method, I don't really know if it's possible to make any real money selling this stuff. I may just go with making it free and, maybe someday, try to make it worth my while with charging for advertisement. I don't know. That's never really been my forte, I just know how to make neat learning materials...that's my world.

I just ordered Edly's Music Theory for Practical People. Since it hasn't arrived yet I can't really recommend it one way or the other but based on Amazon's reviews and, having had the opportunity to browse through the first pages on their site, it sure looks like it will be a great book.

I may be a bit partial, but I actually completed this book before I went to MI, as it was used as our curriculum for a Music Theory class at Indiana University-Kokomo where I went to school from 01-05. I feel it does a great job of explaining the concepts as well as providing you with a workbook where you can test your skills. I found this to be very helpful, however; it may not be the best for very, very beginners. Take a look and see what you think.

Don't know the difference between major and minor? Wanna learn about intervals? Chord construction? Here is the link to the first steps.

If you are just starting theory look thru these pages to see if it might answer your questions first. If you need to come back to ask a question feel free to do so.
Theory is one the most confusing things related to guitar. Some musicians avoid it all together. It is highly useful and any aspiring professional should learn as much theory as possible. Good luck on your quest for knowledge!

I just updated my Circle Of Fifths tutorial with videos & scores:
http://www.guitartricks.com/tutorial.php?input=835
It's fairly complex material, but I tried to make it understandable, useful & fun! I expanded it from 5 lessons of text to 10 lessons with vids, scores, examples.
Important note for future reference, this tutorial has lessons that explicitly show, play, identify & score the sharps & flats of each and every musical key signature, one at a time.
Have fun & be informed.
