what is that police guy's name anyway? is it Sumners or Summers?
did Marr realy say...
I was able to play Stairway To Heaven when I was 12. Jimmy Page didnt actually write it 'til he was 22

i have heard this quoted a few times but i didn't think it was him. i though it was that guy in the spinal tap film. maybe he was just copying it......

He did say it. He was the number 10 on that 'Top Ten Guitarists' programme a while ago.

For me it has to be petrucci, his speed and fluency are second to none.Steve Morse is also a fave because he has such feeling.I love Eddie not only for his brilliant lead work but his rythm playing as well which i feel a lot of people underrate. Finally Zakk Wylde,i love the way he gets those pinched harmonics

thats where i heard it. right before he slipped down the stairs right? that program was a bit dodgy. santana at 8? townsend at 5? and what about Satch, Vai, Beck, SRV, Peter Green, Malmsteen and EVH all been kicked out at the start. what do u mean Beck and Green never had hit albums! where have u TV produces been this last 50 years??!!!?

Its based on album sales. Hence peopke like Dave Evans and Johnny Marr, who are more rhythm based than lead-wank-Vai-guitar, it doesnt necesarily mean there the best just that theyve sold alot of albums. The list was good, Id prefer that list than full of Vai, Satriani, Van Halen. It was varied.

And considering Santanas last album went 74 times platinum in the first year I dont reckon Beck or Green have had that many hit albums.
