[font=trebuchet ms]That was one of Asrael's specifications. The 7th string is fretless, and the scale is equivalent to 36 frets. There wouldn't be enough space between frets to finger them properly at the bridge end of the neck, so some of them are left out at that end of the scale.[/font]
