See, "ignorant" is not coming down on the view, and to equate it with something like "retarded" is not fair at all. That's my point. If someone said they hated black people because all black people do is commit crime, I would call that view ignorant. If someone said the first steam engine was built in 1999, I'd say that was ignorant, but I wouldn't call them a retard or anything. It's not on the same level, it's not insulting, and to claim that it bears an insulting meaning is ignorant of the words place in the English language. See? It's not an aggressive, attacking word.
