Here is the review I wrote! I love my Spider II. I wrote a review if you haven't read it yet you might want to check it out. I have also heard great things about the transtube. I'd go with the Spider just for the recording capability myself. If you can take your ax to the nearest guitar store and check them out. Take the Spider!
