Hello everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm an aspiring Blues and Rock guitarist. Started when I was in grade school, became an electric guitar student around 12 or so, learned for about one year, then coasted till about now. I'm 42. Man, time flies. I'm a short haul truck driver living around Elkhart Indiana.

In the last 10 months I spent ..gobs.. on finding and buying a great guitar, tube amp, and speakers. ($900 of which was burnt up on cell phone overages) (my bad) But I am so happy with my guitar rig. I've wanted a Marshall tube amp for nearly 30 years!

- 50watt Marshall JCM800 single 12 combo
- 02' Gibson SG Standard stock hardware
- Two excellent Scumback speakers SA12M75,55 (vintage greenback clones)

I just got those speakers last week (25&30watt), and I am really happy with them! I used to have a V30 (60watt), and these are really much more to my liking.

This is pretty much the extent of my guitar specific knowledge.

I know:
- about 7 open chords
- the A and E major and minor forms of bar chords
- power chords
- the blues scale (mostly around the first position)
- one lead chop at the first position, a cool Chuck Berry like double stop
- how to find the key in most music
- basic techniques like bends, slide, hammer on, pull off, etc.
- how to play, Bringin on the heart aches by Def Leppard (minus the lead)
...and...
- I have a looooooooong way to go.

I fake mostly old Def Leppard, AC/DC, some KISS, ZZ Top and Scorpions. However I have a serious desire to learn blues guitar. Currently I'm focused on learning foundational blues lead stuff.

Seems like a great website!
