ey all of you,

i'm having a problem. I want to use a tremelo-type guitar for realling good shred-work. I have a Strat with trem, but it detunes to much. I'm looking for a Floyed Rose model but I can't find a cheap one.

any suggestions?

ive been looking into the same thing. you dont want a bad trem or it'll detune like crazy.

whats your price range?

ok, forget about the OLP. it has a floyd, but everything else about it seems mediocre to me. i bet the floyd isnt even that good on it.

your looking for a shred guitar. Ibanez makes GREAT shred guitars. the RG350 (i belive thats what your talking about) has 24 frets which is a definate plus. ibanez floyds are tipically high quality, and that thing just looks sweet.

ESPs. also incredible shred guitars. im guessing your talking about the LTD MH250. i dont think it looks as sweet as the ibanez but if i had the decision i'd take this one. its got EMG's on it, its a neck-through (sweet sustain) and its got a good truss rod on top of that.

i'd go for the ESP.

hmmmz... thanks again.

the only thing that's in the way now, is my budget.
still, the ESP is slightly over it, I was more talking about the LTD M-100FM
it costs about 100$ less.

PS, what about Jackson Dinky's?

I own a Jackson DKMG Dinky with a licensed Floyd Rose double locking trem and I like it alot. However, I don't like the EMG HZ pickups that they come with and the +20 decible boost thing ain't that great either. I bought mine for 450.00 bucks off EBAY and slapped the EMG 81\85 set in it. Put a tremsetter on it to stable up the trem and changed string gauges from 9's to 11's. I really like it alot now. The thing I like the most about the Jackson DKMG is the fretboard, it's wider at the nut than most guitars and this suits my hands better.
I am a constant evolving music machine. Oh Man, I just forgot what I was playing. Oh well, on to the next song.

so?
Jackson's and ESP's are just as expensive and have a Floyd Rose on it.

I do agree with one thing, Even Ibanez makes Floyd Rose guitars that cost 285$. that's not really reliable, my teacher has one and It detunes just as much as my guitar

Put a tremsetter on it for 30 bucks and your trem will become stable.

The tremsetter is made by Hipshot. Here's the link you want to look at to answer all your questions.

that's pretty good stuff dude, but I thinks it is not the trem self. It's de headstock and tuningheads. I hear it click when I go to deep. then it detunes.

any ideas for that?

Do you have a double locking trem? If so, you may need to snug the 3 bolts down at the nut. Don't over tighten them though 'cause you can strip'em.
If you don't have a double locking trem then it sounds like string stretch to me and without the double locking trem I'm not sure you can avoid this.

It's just a Strat normal kind, so without a locking trem. but even the smallest vibrations make it detune.
so, you're suggesting I should buy a Floyd Rose? Well, I think I'm going to, 'cause I hate the sound of my Strat. I'm used to humbuckers and it only has single coils. I could buy a Floyd Rose guitar, and if I only try to repair my Strat, It would cost me just as much.

So I'm looking for a ESP and maybe lock the trem on my Strat.

if you dont like the sound of your strat anyways, whats the point of doin a whole trem-repair?

i say forget the hunk of junk and buy that nice new guitar- you wont be playing your strat anymore anyways.
