Don't you just love contradictions
In the first portion of that statment you go on to say that the quaility of his mucic is all that matters and anything physical or in otherwords anything you can see such as stage tricks is meaningless. Then by the end of your statement you complain about his hair and his wardrobe as if that makes him a worse guitarist. And btw some of the greatests guitarists in the world like hendrix used stage tricks and it didn't remove anything from his playing quaility. If it doesen't affect the music thats fine with me. And as far as smashing the guitar goes hendrix called it "nothing more then a release i guess" It particularly makes me cringe seeing such a beatiful instrament get smashed to pieces but if thats how they release their energy and they have the money to do so i will not object to it. Hendrix said "If i feel like playing with my teeth or smashing my guitar I DO IT because i feel like it, if the crowd likes it great, if they dont, great, im doing what i feel like doing and expressing myself in ways that i know how. music is all about self expression and i take my self expression to new heights, i dont rely on these gimmicks to entertain the crowd even though they might like watching it."

My friend died rock climbing on Saturday. He was drunk though... and he didn't normally rock climb. [...] I'm not too good with death.

I hesitate to take a post from iiholly seriously...

Well, Mike dying is pretty serious to me. I couldn't have stopped it, I wasn't there.
