I recently received 2 guitars for free. An old Folk guitar from the 70s and a regular beginner guitar that's about a 10-15 years old. Both need new strings. I'm pretty clueless about repairs for a guitar. So my question is, due guitar shops or places that sell insturments restring guitars for people and if so about how much? And what kind of strings should I get for a beginner, Steel? Nylon? Thanks anyhelp would be nice!
P.S. I also have the chance to buy an electric guitar and amp from a friend who won it in a contest. He would sell it all to me for $200, should I jump on it or wait and see how much I like the guitar??
