improvising at super fast speed is only for guitar gods but for the mortals like us there are some things we can do to sound like that:
take a scale (like major) and learn:

Secuences
acending 1234,2345,3456, etc
decending 7654,6543,5432, etc
3 notes per beat 123,234,345,345, etc
5 notes perbeat 12324,23435,34546 etc
lots of combinations

intervals of 3rds and 6ths(sound cool) also decending
13,24,35,46, etc
16,27,38,49, etc

arpegios
135,642,357,864, etc
theres alot arpegios some of them use the 6 strings using sweep picking others use only 2. They can make you sound like the most evil shreder or the most well versed cat in jazz depending on your tone and the scales your using

1(2) note pivote licks
3 notes per string licks
and the old godies blues licks.......
