now! I don't discriminate the entire genre of music, you have to keep in mind that I LISTEN TO IT! so, I obviously don't hate it, (except for greenday, I just can't stand them) and I didn't say that it has to have a blazing to solo in order for it to require talent, as long as it actually has some kind of beat or pattern that takes at least some kind of talent to write, even if the entire beat is just power chords, as long as it's in a pattern, not just playing 8th note power chords through the whole song. frankly I like alot of alt. rock, but there are a few execeptions where it's like "how come I'm not the one being paid millions of dollars to play 3 chords over and over again?"

im sorry dude, dont mean to be ragging on the 16 year old christian kid from missouri or whatever, but you sound so small-minded. i dont claim to be any kind of musical know-how, but youre a moron. plain and simple. you dont have a clue about separation between talent and art. a painter that has the ability to paint mount rushmore with every exact detail might not make his career painting realistic art. picasso started painting by using realism, and then branched off to abstract. and yea, i know what youre thinking right now in your fat little head: "but dude, picasso is a PAINTER! billy joe is a GEEETARIST! DERR!" yea, im pretty ****ing aware of that, fat boy. you know why alot of his stuff is simple and any dip-**** with a years experience can "learn his solos in less than two mintues"? its because theyre a goddamn 3 man band. you act as if they just came out of nowhere and mtv handed them instruments and said "play a 3 chord progression, well give you 500 million dollars!" dude, greenday has been a band for at LEAST ten ****ing years. heres wehre another one of your sweet comebacks come in... "but quickfingers, if hes been playing geetar since he was 6 (which he has) why isnt he any good??" i bet that he could out rip your "shredding" any day of the week, and i think it takes more balls to have talent and not always show it than to have a little bit and try and play out of your ability (that would probably be you, my fake guitar virtuoso comrade)
