I installed a Seymour Duncan SH-6 bridge pickup into one of my guitars. The guitar is a 1980's Cort Star Guitar(not the factory given name, just the one the Cort Factory tech gave me when I asked if he could tell me about it. He had heard of them but had never saw one) It has a 2-humbucker, 1 volume, 1 tone, 3-way configuration. My problem is that when I am in the middle position of the switch I have a major cut in the low end of my tone which produces an almost strat like sound. When I switch to either of the p/ups alone they both great with nice low end. I have checked and rechecked my wiring and it is spot on to the schematic. I also have checked to make sure I hadn't wired the Duncan to be split(it has 4 conductor wire). I have wired many guitars and have never had this problem. It is probably the switch, but that seems almost too easy of a solution, plus I am all out of the tiny 3-way swtiches that this guitar needs. Until I get one I wanted to know if anyone thought it could be something other than the switch. So any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Sorry about this long arse entry.
