I know I've already made a few posts but I thought I'd introduce myself anyway.

I found the site by accident and was first impressed by some of the teaching materials and then realised there was also a forum so I signed up with a stupid name. Can I change it now please ? :)

OK, I've been playing guitar for more years than I care to remember. My last band "Tricks Upon Travellers" lasted nearly 15 years and is still going (in name at least). We had a modicum of critical success in the UK but no financial reward :( with the high point being an appearance at the Glastonbury festival 5 years ago.

Mostly self taught with no discernible style at all as far I can see. I've tended to concentrate on writing rather than playing but I'm always open to new ideas and techniques.

Anyway enough for now.

Cheers

Dick

I'm afraid you're stuck with the name, unless you re-register with a new username. Your post count will start at zero under the new name, but is that really an issue for you?

If you re-register under a new name, your old posts don't disappear - they're still here, with your old username.

The software for this website doesn't allow you to carry the post count from an old username to a new one. So you start fresh in terms of post count.

It comes down to what bothers you more - your old choice of username, or the loss of post count if you start over with a new name.

Welcome and don't worry, there are plenty of us here with stupid names. What's a bigbuda? Who knows? Who cares? It's all good!
I am a constant evolving music machine. Oh Man, I just forgot what I was playing. Oh well, on to the next song.

Thanks guys. Maybe I'll just leave the username as it's not the most stupid :D

Also nice to see that there are some other Brits here ;)

Cheers

hey and welcome to the boards.

How is my name "unoriginal"?

I just noticed that there are 2 other members with a name close to mine, but they joined in 2005... 3 years after me.. PRS_player and prsplayer

So I ask... Who is original and who is not?

BTW, welcome to GT!!

Hi Guys. I just want to ask how do you post those nice post scripts like this after your quotes?........ ;)

"The band is just fantastic that is really what I think...oh, by the way, which one's Pink"

"Thren keld wing nut; Why not rheam?!"

"It's okay to only know three chords but God, put them in the right order" -Hank Hill

"Life is like a box of chocolates, it's good but it ends quick, especially if you're fat"

"life is short. play your gibson naked"

I also want to create something like that on my account, Can you please give a step by step instructions on how create those post scripts.

I also just want to ask how to post some pictures or tabs directly from my hard drive? Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :)

There's a bar underneath the guitartricks logo at the top of the page, one of the options on it says "account." Click that, then look for "Edit Signature" (it's in the left-hand column of the screen). Then type whatever you want.
