I stand corrected. i checked a drawing of a Strat and the pots are indeed 250K.
I checked the Resistance of my Three year old Squier Strat and the Tone measured 480K and the volume 535K - However the rest of the electrics are all connected and must be throwing the readings out.
I've learnt a bit more
