It's not that the vocals are bad per se; in fact, the vocals are fine. It's the fact that the song, in its entirety, is somewhat 'cheesy' (as you say) overall. Now obviously, if that's what you had in mind, then no big deal. However, with the general direction that popular culture is headed in these days, I cannot see a tune of that nature (full of synths) ever making it on the radio.

...And I suppose that's no problem anyway, since radio really shouldn't be used a measure of success. I'm happy writing my underground stuff and couldn't care less if it ever saw the light of day with mainstream audiences. Personally, I think you should stick with instrumental MoogBoog style tunes, but that's my 2 cents.
