I'd say, go to vegas without a guitar, go to a local shop that has a return policy, get a guitar there, and then return it at the end of your trip and say it wasn't quite what you were looking for...

if you're more honest, then you could just go to the local shop and "try out" a guitar whenever you want to play.

and if not that, then isn't that what they made "flight cases" for?
