Maybe my phrasing wasn't quite right - I was being flippant to try and keep it light. You'll see I made a similarly light-hearted poke at established religion with the beardy comment. I was defending your right to your own beliefs. I myself don't believe in him above, or him below or whoever else.... but I do respect everyone's right to do as they see fit.

Religion is always a pointless thing to discuss - you gonna convert me? Don't think so... I don't want you to discuss it with me, just be secure in your own beliefs...
