While messing with the whammy bar on my guitar one of the springs that tensions the strings let go. The whammy bar is a Lo-TRS just in case that helps.

I can get the spring back in, but the hole is worn and it won’t stay in place even without any of the strings being anywhere near in tune. Should I move it to a different hole? e.g.

it used to be: (where "o" is the holes)

o Spring (high e)
o
o Spring
o
o Spring (low e)

could i set the springs like this for example:

o (high e)
o Spring
o Spring
o
o Spring (low e)

Or is there a way to get the spring back in? Do you guys have any suggestions that could help me? any help would be greatly appreciated.
