Well, I have two things working in my favor; for one I bought the cable in New Hampshire (no sales tax) and for another, I've been going to this store for over a decade... so they probably knocked $5 or so off of what I paid. But that's still 5 more feet for $5 less than you paid.

When I bought my cables, they basicly asked me which ends I wanted to use, measured out the amount of cable I wanted off of a spool then assembled it for me right there. The first one I got, they even showed me how to fix it and reassemble it properly.

[QUOTE=heknowsnothing]Are the curly cables any better than straight ones does anybody know?

No, they aren't.

For one thing, as Schmange said, "the shorter, the better" and when you get a curly cable, you're essentially using, say, 15 feet of cable to make an effectively 10 foot cable.

Another thing that happens with them is that coiling up a cable like that causes signal interference within itself.
