hey, im a newby when it comes to equipment and knowing whats "good" or bad".

ive had all the normal training you get from college as a music major, but they never got into details about solid state amps vs. tube, ect.

I recently bought a fender deluxe DSP 90.

its a 112, but as you all may know fender's are known for their clean chanels as well as being loud as hell.

i see nothing wrong with this amp but some of my guitar player friends (i am mainly a singer) tell me fender solid staes are peices of crap.

is this true? if so why does it sound fine to me?

i kind of have the ikpression that diff types of amps, guitars, and effects are for diff styles of music. like a garage punk band might not want to use a parker fly guitar if they are looking for authentic punk sounds.

someone give me your 411 on this topic.
should i toss the amp and go tube for double the money?
