I also recommend the fender FM 212R... I was in the same predicament as you, I had a 15 watt practice amp, not loud enough for gigs, and i was on a budget.. someone on here recommended that amp to me, and I went for it... couldn't have been happier, this thing will definately be loud enough for you. the distortion is ok, perhaps a pedal would be better, but, it gets the job done. read my review of this amp in the reviews section of this message board. it's a really good amp for the $300
