Say you don't like one candidate that well, but you can't stand another, so you just decide not to vote all together, If you aren't voting for the one you would rather have, it is not supporting either, so in a way ,is supporting them both the same, if that makes sense. But, I see Cryptic's point how sometimes it is best to let the cards fall where they may, which in some does turn out for the better.
