I think it's good... It does show you exercises to improve alternate picking technique and speed, and has a section on sweep picking as well.

Really, it helps you develop techniques you already have - doesn't go very in depth on the techniques themselves.

Worth the money in my opinion - also try looking at ' Speed Mechanics' by Troy Stetina....
