worry less about the kind of music you play, and more about the types of instrument you find comfortable / complimentary to your playing style... I play fusion on a fender telecaster ;)

I guess ibanez is an obvious suggestion, as Gilbert is an endorsee - I had an RG Prestige once and liked it. When you say 'not too expensive', what does that actually mean?
