i have an opinion or two, lol. there is a way to get a badass metallica tone; buy a randall classic 200 head (200 watts), a Behringer 4x12 cab, buy some stomp boxes, run your signal chain so that you have your three major tones, get an AB-Y box to switch between Rhythm/Lead/Clean. i suggest buying a digitech metal master or Line 6 Ubermetal distortion. run everything into the effects return jack on the back. get a jackson rhodes V, and hotrod it with a seymour duncan Dimebucker. this will help you get the ultimate metallica tone, if set-up properly. obviously im speaking from personal experience, lol. it is not as expensive as you might think. hell, its easily doable for under a grand. ne ways. good luck and keep on jammin!
